As we enter what I refer to as "The Ber Months"...September, October, November and December, time seems to speed up. Weeks and months seem to fly by and then all of a sudden, it's time to make those New Year's Resolutions again. How about you make a "SeptemBer Resolution" this year and declutter what you don't want to joining you in 2025.
When we make New Year's resolutions, we usually think we have 12 months to complete them cause the word "year" is in it. I'll do it sometime within this new year. Makes sense. However, when the length of time is so long, we tend to procrastinate or forget about it all together because we have so much time. With a SeptemBer Resolution, you have 30 days to get 'er done, which is a much shorter length of time and kind of puts more pressure on yourself to complete them.
What should you declutter? All the stuff that you don't need, use or love anymore. Make a list of areas that you want to declutter like, the garage, kitchen, kid's room, your bedroom, basement or office. Pick a day and time to get started and jump right in!
How to declutter your space: Look for things that are obvious trash, worn/torn/broken items, clothes that are too large or too small, things that you have not (never) used in a few years or anything that you know you can really live without. Throw away the trash and donate items that someone else can easily use.
Why declutter in September? You'll get a jump start on getting your house ready for the holidays. Sometimes, when the days get shorter and colder, our motivation seems to wane when it's cold and dark outside, like going to the donation center after work.
Now for Who and When....those are easy... You and in September!
Happy Decluttering!!!
